Payments for Water Bills & Village Taxes may be placed in the secured drop box slot located in the door of the Village Clerk’s Office. Your payment will be considered “on time” provided it is in the drop box before the Clerk’s Office opens on the business day following the due date. If a receipt is required or requested, one will be mailed to you the following morning.

Birth Certificate
A Certified Birth Certificate can be obtained via mail or in person at the Village Clerk’s Office.
FOR SECURITY REASONS, WE ARE NOT PERMITTED TO GIVE INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE, including whether or not your record is on file with our office. You must request the information either in person or via mail. You must have been born within the Village of Silver Creek for your record to be on file with us. If you were born at Lakeshore Hospital, your record will be on file with the Town of Hanover 716-934-2273. The fee is $10 for each copy
For request IN PERSON: Your Driver’s License is required as proof of your identity. There is a short form to fill out that asks for the following information: Your Name given at Birth, Your Birth Date, Your Father’s Name, Your Mother’s MAIDEN Name
For request via MAIL: You are required to submit a notarized letter that includes the following information: Your Name given at Birth, Your Birth Date, Your Father’s Name, Your Mother’s MAIDEN Name, Mail the notarized letter, along with an address (and phone number) to which it should be returned-as well as the required fee (made payable to the Village of Silver Creek) to: Village of Silver Creek, 172 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, NY14136
Tax Certificate
A request must be made in writing and must provide the Section Block & Lot number for each property location. There is a fee of $5.00 for EACH SBL listed on the request. We will provide the Current Water/Sewer information as well as the Tax information (including any re-levies) for the property. Mail your request along with a check or money order (payable to the Village of Silver Creek) to: Village of Silver Creek, 172 Central Avenue Silver Creek, NY 14136
Village Tax Receipt
A copy of your Village Tax Receipt can be provided at no cost. It is helpful, but not necessary to have the Section Block & Lot number available when making your request.
Final Meter Reading Requests
If you are purchasing/selling/renting a home or business in the Village, contact our office to have a final meter reading done before the sale, or each time a tenant moves out/in. This will ensure that the proper person is receiving the bill for water consumed at the property location. If the property has been vacant for a long period of time, it is preferable for our Water Department to gain access to the meter inside the home/business to ensure the accuracy of the final bill. Please call to schedule a time when someone will be able to be at the property location to allow them access.

Dog related issues (only)– occurring within the Village limits- are handled by the Village ACO. Any incidences outside of the Village should be handled by the Township in which they occur.
All other issues with regard to raccoons, cats, etc. should be directed to one of the Nuisance Control Officers in Chautauqua County.
