NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND MEETING TO CONSIDER

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A

JOINT FIRE DISTRICT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Town Board of the Town of Hanover and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Silver Creek will be holding a public hearing on the 27th day of May, 2025 at 7:00pm, at Silver Creek Central School, 1 Dickenson St, Silver Creek NY 14136, on the question of the formation of a joint fire district, pursuant to the provisions of section 189-a of the Town Law and section 22-2210 of the Village Law, which is proposed to include all parcels of land within the incorporated limits of the Village of Silver Creek and a portion of the parcels of land in the Town of Hanover currently within the Town of Hanover’s Fire Protection District described more fully as:

All of that portion of the Town of Hanover, beginning from the center line of where King Road intersects with the border of the town of Sheridan and the Town of Hanover Town Lines, then running north along the Town of Hanover and Town of Sheridan Town Line until the Town Line reaches Lake Erie, then running east along the town line until the intersection of the Town of Hanover Town Line intersects with the Town of Irving Town Line, then running south easterly along the Town of Hanover and Town of Irving Town Line, until the intersection of such town lines with the centerline of King Road, and then running along the centerline of King Road to the point of the beginning, and then including all of such portion described above including the village of Silver Creek, and the hamlets of Hanford Bay and Sunset Bay, and also including the New York State Thruway as it runs through the above areas, but excluding all of that territory of the Irving Fire District and the Hamlet of Irving.

All persons interested may be heard. A map of the proposed territory is on file with the clerks of the Town of Hanover and the Village of Silver Creek.

Please also take notice that the Town and Village Board shall meet immediately following the public hearing to consider the question on the formation of the joint fire district and related matters.

The Village of Silver Creek 2025 Music in the park schedule 6-9 pm Tuesday evenings in the Village Ball Park:

Bring your own cooler and chair. Food trucks and vendors available. 

Open containers are permitted in the Ball Park during the event for 21 and over.

Note: Classic cars are welcome and encouraged at any of our music in the park events.

Attention: The  Next Mobile Food Pantry will take place TUESDAY, JUNE 24th 2025 from 11:00-12:30 or until food is gone.

**We are looking for a few volunteers once a month for a few hours to help load bags for the Mobile Pantry. You must be able to follow directions, bend, and lift 40lbs. If interested, contact the Clerk’s office. 716-934-3240.**

*** We are asking that anyone picking up food bring one or two clean sturdy reusable bags (not paper) for each family unit picking up food, and drop them off so we can use them the next time we have a mobile food pantry. *** 172 Central Ave, Silver Creek Municipal parking lot. This is a first come first served event. Anyone is welcome, there are no area restrictions.
***Please enter from Front Street, right to Jackson LEFT to Montgomery, right onto Lincoln and Left into the Municipal Parking lot. **Please do not block any driveways. **

Effective 8/21/2015–The clerk’s office now accepts credit cards for water/sewer payments, and village tax payment only. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express will be accepted. Please note that a service fee of 3% of the payment amount will be assessed on all credit card payments.

8/1/2018: The Village of Silver Creek now accepting payments https://silvercreekny.com/?page_id=389 in
person, over the phone of via a mobile app.

The app can be downloaded for free from the PlayStore or Itunes and the Pay Location Code is 37598.
The Village is the latest municipality to partner with PayGOV in New York. Village residents
will enjoy new, convenient ways to pay at very affordable costs. Depending upon the size of the
payment, the convenience fee can be as low as one dollar.

Off street parking rules go in to effect on November 15th According to the Code of the Village of Silver Creek Article III, 201-21 , All night parking prohibited: ‘No vehicle shall be parked on any street or highway in the village between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. from the 15th day of November to the 1st of April of the following.
